An interview with Danny Boyle
My friend (Zübeyde
Arslan ) and I listened an interview between director Danny Boyle (interviewee) and Francin
stock (interviewer). I found this task very difficult and could not catch up
with their talking speed. I cannot remember how many times i replayed it and got
angry ;) . It may be useful but not encouraging.
The interview was
about his award-winning Mumbai
drama ‘’ Slumdog
Millionaire’’ which was directed by
Danny Boyle. In this interview,
the topic is about not only the
difficulties of filming in a different town with different culture but also the name , subtitles and content of the film.
Francin started the interview with this question: Here you are
as a westerner filming in India how do you avoid that kind of 'film tourism'
element?
Danny Boyle
answered this question saying that it was
the most important thing to avoid from his perspective. He also mentioned about
the some contradictions between White people and Indian people. He
supported his idea with this sentence : ‘’
Although I am like a white director going there,it was very important that the
cast of the film was a completely Indian cast. These characters all come from
the city and they belong there and they are not speaking words corrected by
westerners.’’
The second
question was about how a boy from the slums could answer the all question
correctly and make such a huge profit which Francin found unrealistic and bizarre.
Danny Boyle
answered this question by laughing and saying
her that it was not unrealistic. He
said : ‘’ No matter what your apparent, education life has also equipped you
with a series of tools that you will find surprisingly useful which he
certainly does on the show.’’
The next question
expressing the main point of the whole
film was about how the director got the
format of " Who Wants to be a
Millionare ’’
Danny Boyle
expressed that it was just a coincidence.
He said that it inherited the right to make the film for free from that
point of view so that was a huge benefit which was partly coincedence and partly
Tessa Ross of Film4.
In addition to
all these written, the director mentioned about difficulties in making film
and he made a comparisions between his own film and the films of some other
countries.
In conclusion, He
commended about current situation of films and gave some recommendations to DVD makers and actors.
If we were the
interviewer, we would ask the director;
-
Why such an adventurous film takes place in Indıa? Why Indıa?
-
In your opinion, Why did this film become
so famous? Why does it attract all people around the world?

My favourite Character,Jean Valjean
Despite
having difficulties in choosing the novel and character at first, this
assignment was enjoyable for me.I read the novel again and noticed the small
details which I ignored before.I appreciate the writer. How a good novel it is
;)
Les Miserables
My
favourite character is Jean Valjean from the novel,Les Miserable. He is a
convict who was found guilty because of stealing a loaf of bread for his
starving family. After the prison, he is
full of anger. He hates the society. But,when he meets Bishop Myrie he changes;
becomes a charitable and virtuous man whose aim of living is to help people..Despite
facing so many difficulties,he overcomes all of them. But his destiny is always
with him.

Horror story
Hi friends! This is my podcast. I worked with Zübeyde Arslan. Despite being a little tiring, we enjoyed so much. I can not remember how many times we replayed it.:) In this process, we laughed, got angry, became impatient;) But the most important thing i learned from this task is, the things we watch and listen are not formed easily. It requires working hard. From now on,I will respect them more :) I hope you will enjoy this podcast ;)

THE WORD DESCRIBING ME
The best word describing me is lively.Because,I enjoy life and myself. People say I am always full of life and energy. I enjoy talking ,taking photos, exploring new places, having a great time with my friends. Anyway, the easiest way to make any situation better is to simply enjoy yourself and allow others to do it too. Life is too short to be unhappy. ;)
How to be Lively
- Have fun!
- Be funny.
- Live it out
- Simplicity says it all: Live.
- React on impulse; live life on the edge!
